Stop roads from ripping through prized forest land

Roads tearing up forests?

Don't let it happen. http://action.wilderness.org/campaign/nez_perce/xg7nnkbr1edxd6b?

In the heart of central Idaho, in a landscape filled with clear running rivers, steep mountainsides and lush vegetation lies the Nez
Perce National Forest. The Nez Perce Forest is one of the most important remaining sanctuaries for endangered Chinook Salmon, and
also provides important habitat for elk, Canada Lynx, wolves, bald eagles and a variety of other species. The Clearwater region also
has several wilderness quality roadless lands.

Motorized use in the area has been steadily degrading the important values that make the Nez Perce country unique. Meadows have been
torn up, wildlife and cultural resources like the historic Nez Perce trail have been damaged, and the roads have also sprouted off
into further unauthorized trails.

Yet the Forest Service has proposed some roads in the forest that could close the door to gaining Wilderness protection for the
forest in the future.

Won't you help us ensure that important Roadless areas retain their remote character. Click here to take action.

Portions of this forest have consistently been ranked by the Forest Service as having the highest possible ranking for Wilderness
designation, and the Forest Service should help protect the values that make this place special.

The Forest Service is proposing several good motorized route closures in important areas, but there are still some routes that will
bisect important watersheds and wilderness quality lands. If these routes are designated, gaining Wilderness designation will be
much more difficult in the future.

Tell the Forest Service to keep this forest pristine.
