Act Now to Stop Utah's Anti-Wolf Bill

Gray Wolf (Photo: Larry Allan) Bad news for wolves in Utah. On Tuesday, the Utah state senate passed a bill that would allow officials to remove or destroy any wolf that crosses into areas of Utah unprotected by the Endangered Species Act.

We need to make sure the proposal dies -- so wolves don't.

Take Action Now: Urge Utah Governor Gary Herbert and the state tourism office to oppose this dangerous bill.

The Lost Frontier

Gray Wolf (Photo: Paul Nicklin/NGS Stock)In Alaska, politics and bad science combine to result in a bloody policy that has claimed the lives of more than 1,000 wolves since 2003. In the latest issue of Defenders magazine, author Nick Jans takes a look at Alaska’s predator control program -- championed by former governor Sarah Palin -- which has unleashed a brutal attack on the state’s wolves and bears.

A Line in the Sand Against Big Oil

Loggerhead hatchling (Photo: USFWS)Big Oil and their allies in the state legislature want to open Florida’s shores to new dirty drilling. If they win, it could spell disaster for dolphins, manatees, sea turtles and other wildlife -- and valuable coastal economies -- that depend on clean shores to survive.

Take the pledge to stand up for clean beaches -- and against an oily future for our shores.
